Happy Holidays everyone! These cookies are SO delicious and extremely easy to make. These simple sugar cookies are chewy and melt in your mouth which is amazing because sometimes sugar cookies can become too crunchy and a little bit flavorless. But, NOT THESE! Have fun making them and I hope you all have a great break!

- 2 & 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups butter
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. Then, in a medium bowl, stir together the flour, salt, and sugar. Now take your electric mixer and blend together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Crack the eggs in one at a time and then add the vanilla following right afterwards.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixing bowl until completely blended.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to keep from sticking.
Use your holiday themed cookie cutters to create your desired shapes. I used my Christmas tree shape, stars, and hearts.
After filling up all the space in the dough, clump it the scraps together and repeat this step until there is not enough dough to continue. Place the new shapes on an ungreased baking sheet about 2 inches apart from one another.
Bake for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool for about 10 minutes before adding any decorations. I just sprinkled some powdered sugar on top which kind of looked like snow!
Finally, enjoy and have a very merry Christmas!
